The Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences (ICE-HT) was established and began operating at Rio-Patras in 1984 as an independent academic institute. In 1987 ICE-HT was incorporated into the structure of the Foundation of Research and Technology-Hellas (FORTH). This comprises of a network of six institutes that report directly to the General Secretariat of Research and Technology of the Ministry of Development and Investment. In addition to fundamental research, the Institute currently conducts applied and technological research in a great variety of fields and provides specialized services to industry.

ZM Makina was established in 2014. The scope of the company is spinning synthetic yarns. The company has 20 employees at the moment and the production line consists of POY (Partially oriented Yarn), FDY (Fully drawn yarns), DTY (Drawn texture Yarn) spinning, twisting and thermofixation. Production capacity is over 1300 tons per month. ZM Makina serves to especially carpet, fabric, and garment industry. The company has installed 3 POY spinning and 2 FDY spinning lines and 8 winders for POY, micro POY, PBT, supermicro FYD and FDY yarns.

Internet Tekstil established in 2004, is a vertically integrated company from spinning to garment. The company completed its vertical operations in house and as a result of this, decreased the lead time up to 4 weeks in fast fashion orders. Internet Tekstil employs > 1000 people in its spinning, knitting-dyeing-finishing and garment production. Internet Tekstil has a daily production capacity of 20 tons of spinned yarn, 15 tons dyed, 10.000 tons of raw fabric, 2000 meters of pigment printed fabrics. Internet Tekstil manufactures for internationally renowned brands such as Superdry, Next, Celio, Levi’s, Esprit, Terranova, Palmers, Ernsting’s Family.

The Textile Industry Research Association - AITEX is a private association of research, characterization and certification tests of articles and textile materials with application to many sectors such as habitat, fashion and clothing, health and medicine, hygiene and cosmetics, work clothes , personal protection equipment, sports and leisure, public transport, automotive, nautical, aeronautics, civil works and construction, sports surfaces, etc. AITEX is currently, at the national level, the reference center for research, innovation and advanced technical services for companies in the textile, clothing and technical textiles sectors.
